Your so full of bologna, Mar. All I did was note the parallels of Genesis 4 and the finds here locally. You've still not provided me with a story/ legend/ myth that accounts for these finds better.

I can't but help think you're missing the point
documentary evidence is all well and good when its actually connected
for most archaeology the only story is that told by the artifacts recovered
and those stories are rarely fictional and never religious in context

I don't know about Biblical expertise on Iron, but I do know about steel, and that link refers to 'carburized', in engineering terms that has a very specific meaning. Which is that the the outer layer only of the Iron is converted to steel, this results in a tough metal covered with a hard outer skin, this technique would result in a sword that was superior to Iron in its ability to cut and that was much less brittle than steel. For a sword, with the correct mix of carbon in the Iron, this can be acheived by repeated hammering the cutting edge to consolidate the metal grains.
This was probaly the method of manufacture for early weapons rather than chemical technology.

He'd be twisting everything to fit his worldview...i.e.- out of context...tsk, tsk Mar. Not very scientific at all. You'd make a good politician/ club member though.
