Being an ex-union official, Min's list of union officers probably read like a Sicilian phone book.
Un elenco di paisani.

Our president was Jewish. Sort of a Meyer Lansky type.

Politicians make history Min, the trouble is they never learn anything from history.
Yesterday's mistakes are repeated today and will probably be repeated tomorrow as well.

It is with very considerable regret Min that no matter how bad you believe the situation is vis-a-vis your politicians I will able to cap them every day of the week, with great humility I offer this example for Pratt of the Year Award!

Weird isn't it? This sort of crap is everywhere. Everyone knows it's crap. Yet still it spreads.
Our (Royal Mail) managers had the opportunity to move to a new building about five years ago, but didn't as this would have taken us into inner London and necessitated sticking a bit more weighting on our wages each week. So we stayed here in an office that is becoming increasingly cramped as the business expands into the delivery of more and more shite that goes into the bin unread. And there's nowhere else to move to in this area. Plus it's a listed building so renovations are a very limited option AND they won't sell because they won't get what the building is really worth. And now every time it rains the place is flooded - and I mean flooded - an inch of water that actually flows across the floor. And the place dries out. Men with clipboards visit us and frown. Then it rains again. Meanwhile it's freezing in winter. And hot and airless in summer and due to surrealism we have sometimes had the radiators on full blast when it's been Mediterranean heat outside because the thermostat for our building is in sodding Woolwich on the other side of London.
And all this is AFTER Mr. Crozier's modernisation.
Brilliant!

The bit about my post that offends me most is the fact that guy who's supposed to examine the boat has probably never been in any water deeper than his bath, and if the boat is as dangerous as the moron in charge suggests then the men in her were risking their lives to save another and the moron has probably risked nothing in his life greater than a paper cut.
I'd love few minutes with him!
Roy.
