I don't know what the textbooks have to say, but according to a friend of mine that I spoke to over the summer, university teachers are including this information in their lectures. That's good news. At least that's true in the Universities in middle Tennessee.

I should stop in the campus bookstore and take a look.

Note that it is the historians leading the academic pack, not the archaeologists. Strange, some historians could accept a pre-clovis presence in North America, and yet question something more recent - like the holocaust!
