Genesis Veracity wrote:Aos, you need to learn to read for comprehension, I didn't say the Ice Age ended 1500 years ago, and I didn't say that I think civilization goes back 400,000 years (or 432,000 years), and you have not rebutted any of the evidence which I've presented for the time of the end of the Ice Age, so that's three strikes, yourrrrrrrrrrr out!
I read university texts and comprehend them just fine thanks, because they make sense. The things you are writing do not. Here's the first paragraph of your article 2.

"Mainstream science received a hot potato as I have determined the methodology for the math which prescribed the dimensions of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Please enjoy, and note that it relates to the 72 conspirators against Osiris, to the 72 virgins of Islam, to the Hindu yugas of time that are multiples of 432,000 years, to the 432,000 warriors of Valhalla, to the 432,000 years of pre-Flood Babylonian kings' reigns, to the 360 year Babylonian period of time called the sari, to the 360 pre-Islamic Arab gods, to our 360 degree mapping system, to our base 60 timekeeping system, and to astrology. I hope that you send this message far and wide, as it reveals the ancient mapping and navigation underpinnings for the numerology of much of the occult world. Thanks, James I. Nienhuis"

So your math (are you a mathemetician by the way?) has figured out the pyramid at Giza, which relates to 72 conspirators against Osiris (I only remeber Horus but my Egyptian mythology may be rusty) 72 virgins etc and the 432,000 years of pre-flood Babylonian king's reigns (etc).

Call me dense but it sounds like your math, if correct, relates both to the pyramid and the kings, not to mention numerology? Or is your prose just a bit cumbersome and obscuring your true intent? Either way, please elaborate.

I imagine that your book would also fit in that category.

Bible thumping jackasses without a shard of proof among them!
What a clever retort min.
no, that is his standard mantra that displays his lack of being able to respond intelligently and constructively.

another book that should be mentioned and will draw the ire of all along with minimalist: the Bible.

The Bible is interesting in that it gives an insight into what people believed at a certain period of history, and how they adapted earlier myths into their own belief system. I also greatly respect the teachings of Jesus from a philosophical point of view. I just can't buy into the mythos of it.

I wouldn't say that entirely - see my post above.

How did book recommendations get turned into religious debate? Why all the insults? This happens when GV or arch show up and start insulting people. I'm getting very tired of it. Stay on topic and knock off the insults! I read every post on this forum and it always runs smooth with debate and information exchange. The insults ALWAYS start with GV or arch dismissing someone as a half-wit or something. They both use the same tactics. They try to antagonize you into flaming and not thinking first. Don't let these trolls do it to you. Yes I said Trolls and I'm about to the point of kicking you both off. I see the pattern now and if it continues you're gone. Don't test me.

I suppose it depends on how in depth a text you are looking for .
One I found varied and instructive was -
Human Antiquity An Introduction to Physical Anthropology and Archaeology by Feder, K.L. & M.A. Park

Early in the morning and I have to go to work.....

Josephus mentions Jesus in his writings (Antiquities of the Jews, I think) although he call Jesus the head of a tribe. Interesting - makes you think there was something to the whole Jesus and Mary Magdelene thing.....

Can open, worms everywhere.....

Looks like you guys had a busy night after I went to bed. It's amazing how a fundamentalist and a lunatic fringe theorist can highjack a board supposedly dedicated to archaeology....

Frank, you couldn't be more wrong about who instigates the insults around here.

...and in the face of such a glaring untruth, I am taking Beagle and Frank's advice. This isn't a theological debating society, so I too will no longer feed the trolls, however tempting they may make it. Good night GV.....
