An old chestnut but " truth is stranger than fiction ", give me an excavation report anyday it's far exciting than tedious agenda driven pseudoscience .

Yep! And some people live such dull lives that I suspect researching how many angels can dance on the head of a pin gives their lives some meaning or purpose. Look at this lot!

Over the years one forgets the majority of them . 0.5 % might actually prove to have a grain of truth and resulting in the "there' are more things in heaven ....." being quoted , usually out of context or "they laughed at ...."

There are undoubted unexplained anomalies in the archaeology record George, that doesn't of course make it a conspiracy.
I fail to understand why the book makes such a mystery of the Toxodon point for a starter, presumably to add a few more pages to a damn long book, perhaps Uni will come up with an answer.

Now it's what a bunch of scoffing True Believers cast it as, with a side order of annoyance at the book itself.

Just as you can always find some "good reason" for doing what you want to do, you can just as easily find some good excuse for not doing what you don't want to do.

We're no deeper than that, IMHO.

Clovis came from some other base and evolved into yet another.

Can anyone say "Solutrean?" Let's recall that Stanford has not only shown that Solutrean existed in Europe he has shown that micrd-blade technology was used in Siberia.

Morning, lads. Back from Las Vegas!
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Ta! But no, we can't say Solutrean for certain, but we can state with certainty that the Clovis culture was a development from something earlier.

"Certain?" No.

But the evidence strongly suggests that the Siberian system did not lead to it.

I think you've missed my point Min. Clovis must have been the sucessor to something. The alternative is 'God said let there be Clovis.'

No, no. That's Stanford's observatinon. Microblade technology from Siberia did cross the land bridge into Alaska...but there is no evidence that it led to Clovis....regardless of what the Clovis-firsters maintain.

Sorry Min but you're still not with me. I don't give an sh-one-t as to whether Clovis arrived via Mongolia or the Hudson Ferry!
What I'm saying is that the people either developed it from not having any stone tools at all or that they are the result of development from an earlier culture, just as the European Middle Stone Age is a later development of the Early Stone Age.
No culture exists without an antecedent.
