Oh I am! I am! Start talking sense and we can all have a discussion. You sound like you're dodging again BTW.
So let's attempt a debate on a single issue, why, and in what manner do you consider yourself better than me?
Straight forward, single, uncomplicated question, all acheived in less than two lines.

Granted Min, but none are anywhere near as well known as their father, and were their achievments due to the results of breeding or education I wonder?
How many Bachs and Einsteins were lost due to apartheid I wonder.

BTW Min the TV programme ran its second instalment yesterday and if I understand you correctly the '7 yrs war' is what we would call the 'War of American Independence!'
Did any/many Britsh troops desert to your side? I would have done.

No, the 7 Years War was from 1756 to 1763. On this side of the pond it is called the French and Indian War and contained such notable disasters as British General Braddock getting his ass kicked. Braddock's death left the remnants of his army under then-Colonel George Washington....who never let anyone forget about his military experience thereafter.

I don't know that a lot of "British" soldiers deserted. I imagine the rates were higher among the Irish troopers and certainly there were Hessians who remained in the German-speaking areas of Pennsylvania after the war.

My point about the show is that as a direct result of the war parliament tried to recoup its expenditures on American security by imposing lots of new taxes on the colonials. These taxes fired up the opposition to Britain.

True enough, now. I'm not so sure it was true in the 18th century.

The actual cause -- according to the principals on this side -- was not the taxes, but the attempt to outlaw the colonial currency that we had prospered with -- an attempted economic hijacking by the City of London that would have impoverished us.

Just we are now, under the same essential system . . .

You re-phased this as
Min wrote:Bach had 20 children, not one of whom was notable for anything other than being a child of Bach.
then demolished your own straw man.

WTF ?

You on drugs or something ?

No I am not on anything, had you heard of any of Bach's children? None achieved the same fame as their father, as I said.
And you dodged my question, again. The list grows.
You suggested that I don't want a discussion, please explain how there can be any sort of discussion when one party continuously ignores questions that they cannot, or will not, answer.
You have avoided questions on ancient Indian nuclear wars, WW2, Judaism, Weimar etc etc etc.

Again, true enough in the 20th century....in the 18th, J. C. Bach ( a/k/a The London Bach ) was quite well-known and respected even by Mozart.
