Dividing the board was what we did when politics overtook a kayaking board I am on. It has worked pretty well. The political side got even nastier when it was divided off, but you have the option to just ignore it.

It's a reasonable idea but it's Michelle's board and she gets 51% of the vote.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

well it has been a day so it is time to address some of the things said about me:

1.
We all know that this is all about Arch. I have never responded to the guy, and never will.
that is your choice, no one is twisting your arm to engage me.

2.
Just look at his stats. Over 13% of the posts here are his. Almost 10 posts per day, and for every one there are 1, 2, or 3 responses. None of it worth reading.
minimalist has more thanme and is on almost every thread, so what is your point? 80% of his aren't even on topic yet no one complains about his productivity. he also gets 2 or 3 responses which say nothing, so obviously you have a problem of bias and prejudice.

3.
This nonsense is easily using a third to a half the board. You have to wade through all the BS to get to anything worthwhile
i am not responsible for the replies to my posts nor am i in control of what other people say. please don't lay that at my feet. if you have a problem with the respondants then talk to them or michelle. i try very hard to put up posts that stay within the rules to constructively contribute. i have stated often that i am here for discussion only whivh is true, i just have a perspective that yu don't agree with tand that alone does not give you the right to ask for my removal.

4.
He is careful to stay well within the rules of engagement, but judge him not by his means, but by his results
i stay in the rules because thatis what i agreed to do wheni signed up, the same as you and all other posters. i am not abusing anything but making my contributions from my perspective and i certainly do not resort to the gutter depths that so many have retreated to when they respond tome. yet you find that thattype of response is not worth mentioning. your objective here is not for the sanctified reason of protecting the forum but because you have a problem with my perspective.

5.
but by his results
those aren't my results, as i said earlier, i am here for discussion and if respondants choose to reply in the manner that they have, that is their choice not my directive nor desire. if you do not like the replies go after the posters who made them not me.

**if you had taken the time to notice, you would have seen that i did not encourage any of them but tried to ignore them. i took heat for that also yet no one is happy because it is not me that they are angry at, but my perspective which they feel is a threat to their own beliefs.

sorry but you are allowed to express your views and so am i. what i gather form your post is that you support, bigotry, close-mindedness, censorship and brainwashing because you want to eliminate a perspective because you are uncomfortable with it. be thankful that michelle supports education by allowing all views to be expressed so we can get a well rounded take on any given subject.

yes i could go hide in the christian forums but that would make me just like you, supporting things not conducive to gaining knowledge, understanding and wisdom. i learn a lot from being here, not what you would like but i learn things. plus, i get a wealth of information i would not have access to if i hid in a closed room with people who only wanted to talk about their beliefs and who did not investigate anything.

Another option was mentioned a few months ago , split the forum
splitting the forum is not the answer. if there are threads you do not like, then stay out of them. as for those posters who can't stay on topic or post intelligently, they need to be reminded of the rules and be made to abide by them, after all they (like you) agreed to follow the rules when you signed on, so they have no excuse for their behavior and they are the moderator's responsibility.

So now I'm back from a great vacation and still I find the chest thumping and name calling. Well, over the next couple of days there is going to be some clean up. There will be some suspensions, some cancellations and a lot of spammer deletions.

Too many good people are not posting due to the likes of but a few.

If you don't like a topic, stay out of it.

If you are here pushing an unfounded agenda, deletion is in your near future.

What is your definition of an "unfounded agenda?"

A thought

Post by MichelleH »

To all who have contributed past and present,

We are an international group and growing. For this I am thankful.
We are a diverse group. For this I am thankful.
We are, or strive to be, a tolerant group. For this I am thankful.

But I give my greatest thanks to those I have met, debated, argued and fought with and against. And those I sadly lost I hope for a return.

May each of you be granted knowledge and wisdom and the power to know when to use them.

It is my wish that you have all the season promises and more.....

Michelle

I second that Min. I appreciate all your hard work, Michelle. We're all a rascally bunch of heathens, and you deal with us quite graciously.

I wish a Happy Thanksgiving to you all. 8)

Happy thanksgiving to all of you. I agree with Bob and Charlie that Michelle does an excellent job on this forum. I appreciate all she does and I also appreciate her putting up with my BS sometimes. I am thankful for all the friends I have made here and everything I have learned from you all. I wish you all happiness and good luck and whatever you wish from the holiday season. Thanks to you all for helping me through a tough time in my life. Your moral support helped me to get through it all and to not just give up. It's traumatic to lose a job you've had for a long time and you all helped me deal with the depression and the anger and doubt that I went through. Don't take this the wrong way, but, I love you guys!
