As I learned just the other day, the whole rapture thng was conjured up by some English preacher in the 1830's
obviously, you are listening to the wrong people and just like to post inflammatory statements and go off topic. why don't you be brave and honestly deal with the quotes.

I believe his name was Darby and he concocted the theory of dispensationalism in the 1830's. Once again, check it out yourself.
I saw it in a program on the HIstory Channel about the so-called "Anti Christ."

I always thought that the Mormons were the latest christian sect but apparently they had competition.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

i believe you have heard and read fromthat guy but the idea of the rapture pre-dates him by about 1700 years. it is found throughout the New Testament and not a recent invention.

As a matter of fact, it sounds like something that a whacko protestant sect would come up with.

I never recall hearing about any such nonsense when I was tortured as a youth by catholic propagandists.

at that time i doubt the catholics believed in the rapture, i am not sure. it certainly was in the protestant churches i attended and inthe Bible college i went to.

sorry for the way you were treated, not everyone is like the catholics you grew up with.

my belief about the rapture is that it is coming but that there still is a lot of work to do, i don't care whenit comes as it is not a priority of life at this time.

Oooh, too bad, arch...looks like even the Wall Street Journal is bailing out on you.

Even as the evolution wars rage, on school boards and in courtrooms, biologists continue to accumulate empirical data supporting Darwinian theory. Two extraordinary discoveries announced this week should go a long way to providing even more of the evidence that critics of evolution say is lacking.

But of course, the lunatic fringe won't give up without making a desperate attempt to cling to their fantasies!
But creationists, many of whose Web sites declare "there are no transitional forms," are not easily persuaded. John Morris of the Institute for Creation Research in Santee, Calif., says Tiktaalik "is just a variety of fish. There is still a huge gap [between fish and land-dwellers] that has to be filled

yes that is sad and the catholic church has it wrong about the celibacy of the priesthood.

remember the quotes i gave concerning empirical data. the problem with evolution is, it is too convenient and not proveable. darwin wrote in too many loopholes to avoid the fact that proof is required to substantiate any claim.

Nothing will ever be provable to someone who has made up his mind that genesis is the be all and end all explanation.

the same can be said of those who adhere to evolution . the problem is i have the modern day evidence on my side which you cannot refute. you have evidence from millions of years ago which you cannot prove.

that is a gap that you cannot cross either

Do you have any idea how silly that sounds?

BTW, you have squat when it comes to evidence. You have opinions of bible thumping morons.

disprove it? even the work with hybrids has shown the Bible to be correct and that is being done in the modern age.

you don't even have micro-evolution as there are too many mitigating circumstances which would provide proof for answers other than the evolutionary process.

Micro-evolution is easy.

You really need to get up to date.

Keep denying it as the world passes you by.

the world isn't passing me by, the truthis doing that to you. micro-evolution is a misnomer and is mis-leading as it gives an idea that a process exists when in reality it is only a defect or a mutation that is not inherited. or what took place is due to an infection or disease.

to admit to micro-evolution would be to deny scriptures, which i won't due.

Scripture needs to be denied, burned and pissed on so humanity can finish growing up.
