OK, you can have your prime time TV gardening, dog, and horse shows, and tea and scones, and fish 'n chips, and cricket and rugby, if I can have my windmills, tulips, clogs, dykes, master painters, and marijuana laws! Fair trade?

I suspect you 'knowledge' of the UK ceased in the 1950s.
And I see in the pres that your wonderful drug laws are currently under review.
Perhaps you would be better off with the tea and scones, with DANISH, not European, butter of course!

Roy.

Speaking of battles---The Kenyan has suggested the U.S. MARINES being absorbed into the U S Army---That would be like Hulk Hogan joining the boy scouts

Not quite: tonight for instance you can enjoy "Dad's Army", "Vegas in Blackpool", and "Birds Britannia" on Saturday night prime time BBC TV...
Very 21st century

Indeed. Inspired by the conservative, religious, and fascist minority coalition. I.o.w. purely ritual. Which can only reconfirm policies as they are.

Alas my friend, they are the same thing.

Aha, an O'Reilly fan.

If anything they should be (re-)absorbed by the navy, which is where they originated after all. In fact the Dutch Marines – the concept that inspired the US Marines – have been part of the (Dutch) navy for 335 years and never were separate. That's a strictly American invention.

They forgot what Marine stands for...
That would be like Hulk Hogan joining the boy scouts
Derogatory arrogance doesn't make for nice people.

Strangely RS your country thinks differently, they sell their produce over here clearly marked DANISH, Europe doesn't get a mention. Sorry!
Not quite: tonight for instance you can enjoy "Dad's Army", "Vegas in Blackpool", and "Birds Britannia" on Saturday night prime time BBC TV...
Whilst your TV will probably broadcasting porn of course. We also have choices beside the what you define as the BBC of course. Doubles your TV will do something about long dead painters, windmills etc as well.

I recall that a few months ago you were telling how wonderful your system was. I recall warning you about your right wing. But don't worry, they probably won't be in power for very long anyway, will they?

You're welcome to our "Danish" butter, Roy. That naming convention indicates the KIND of product. Not it's country of origin. It's all European, after all. And while you're at it I can also recommend our Feta and Mozarella cheeses! Greek goat cheeses and Italian buffalo cheeses from Dutch cows...

No, tonight it's going to be comedy, choirs, and stand-up-comedy respectively, overhere.

Not tonight on prime time, you don't.

I should hope not, of course.
But in any case you Anglo-Saxons are waaay ahead of us with your 5 million CCTV cameras, Patriot Act, FISA, and illegal wars. So we still have some catching up to do.

Don't try the holier than thou bit RS, it doesn't fit too well...
Prince Bernhard received a $1.1 million bribe from Lockheed to ensure the Lockheed F-104 would win out over the Mirage 5 for the purchase contract. He had served on more than 300 corporate boards or committees worldwide and had been praised in the Netherlands for his efforts to promote the economic well-being of the country.

Prime Minister Joop den Uyl ordered an inquiry into the affair, while Prince Bernhard refused to answer reporters' questions, stating: "I am above such things". The results of the inquiry lead to a constitutional crisis in which queen Juliana threatened to resign if Bernard would be prosecuted. Bernard was spared, but had to step down from several public positions and was forbidden to wear his military uniforms again.

Prince Bernhard always denied the charges, but after his death on December 1, 2004, interviews were published showing that he admitted taking the money. He said: "I have accepted that the word Lockheed will be carved on my tombstone."

Fantastic! No wonder you lot spend so much time and money growing marijuana. BTW, none of the programmes you listed are on BBC here tonight, sorry.
