According to Good Morning America today, some archeologists fromthe Bible Archaeology Search and Exploration (B.A.S.E) Institute, a Christian archeology organization dedicated to looking for biblical artifacts, has found THE Noah's Ark.
The good part is that they found it in Iran's Elburz mountain range. Considering that Iran was once Persia, the Epic of Gilgamesh comes to mind, especially since so many of us feel that is the source of the Noah's Ark story.
Actually, they found a basaltic dyke - as is clearly shown in their pictures. How you mistake igneous rock for petrified wood I'll never know, I guess it takes an awful lot of faith.....

(And yes, I know they said they sent samples of the 'wood' off for analysis. Doesn't change the fact it's still an igneous intrusion. 100% guaranteed not to be Noah's nor anyone else's boat. You can believ all you like, but it doesn;t change the truth)
Oh, and as any reputable Christian or Jewish biblical scholar will tell you, the Noah's Ark story in Genesis is a mis-mash of 2 different accounts (hence, for example, the conflicting orders regarding how many pairs of clean animals to take on board

) When it was compiled around the 8th century BC they presumably didn't know which was the true one so iincorporated both, just to be sure.
It was the same with the Creation story.
