We've been over this for pete's sake - change the record - it's getting really old. We were having some good conversations here.......

Are there any ancient Egyptian records which treat the base of the GP as some kind of standard, or are there divisions or subdivisions of the GP dimensions expressed in any hieroglyphs?

Are there any ancient Egyptian wooden, copper, bronze, or gold, royal cubit (20.632") measuring rods? I would guess some would have been buried in the most ancient royal tombs.

Some information and artifacts here http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/measures.htm

It's a touring site - so not exactly scholarly.

Now this is interesting because of this quote:
The "Royal Egyptian Cubit" was decreed to be equal to the length of the forearm from the bent elbow to the tip of the extended middle finger plus the width of the palm of the hand of the Pharaoh or King ruling at that time
If so there was no standardized measurement from one king's rule to the next.

Very good links about measurement, I especially liked the last one.
The "Royal Cubit Master" was carved out of a block of granite to endure for all times. Workers engaged in building tombs, temples, pyramids, etc. were supplied with cubits made of wood or granite. The Royal Architect or Foreman of the construction site was responsible for maintaining & transferring the unit of length to workers instruments. They were required to bring back their cubit sticks at each full moon to be compared to the Royal Cubit Master.

Failure to do so was punishable by death.
Now there's some incentive to follow protocol.

Oh really Oas, so there were forty, or fifty, or a hundred, standards for the length of the royal cubit? You should write a book about that!

Just quoting a source. Can you disprove? I was trying to help you with your question.

So Starflower, Oas would have us believe that they cut new granite standards and copper standards whenever a new pharoah came along, so what did they do with the old ones, shouldn't they be in the graves, Oas, can you help us on this?

Oh, Oas, you forgot, you endorsed my article #2 in finding no fault in the analysis of how the length of the royal cubit was determined, did you forget already? Back to the brain food.

Oh wait a minute - this would throw your whole measurement thing in the dustbin wouldn't it? Now I understand the scramble. I was just trying to help GV. Have fun with it.

I endorse nothing of yours - please do not include me in any further lies.
