Take a look at this web site for the last picture you sent.

In particular, scroll down to the one marked "Caidian." While these tend to be fairly ornate I can see the potential hint of the "swept hilt" type of rapier. (One side curves up, the other down.) A side shot of the artifact would be more helpful but you've got what you've got.

The rapier was in fashion until the beginning of the 18th century and, of course, the existing ones would have remained in service for as long as they could hold an edge....especially in the colonies.

Beats me. Club's last picture looks more a like a bayonette scabbard to me.

Oops, yeah. He PM'd a photo that looked marginally like a sword hilt.

no I don't think that one is a sword, I thought it looked more like that last pic I posted. The sword hilt is in the HEX photo with a line pointing to it :D

This club you talk about mainly composed of the top academics trying to keep their top jobs as for CLUB does my bowling club count??????

Their jobs are not in jeopardy, FT. It's their reputations they worry about.
