It is what I was refering to.
Legend it may be, but many legends have a bit of historical beginings.

And in this case sounds remarkably like a simply transposed version of one of the discovery stories of many Pharaoh's tombs.
I.o.w.: everything could be true. Just not in the Grand Canyon. But in Egypt (of course).
And in the absence of any shred of evidence that is the most likely explanation for this rural legend.

You could be correct.
Without it being allowed to be explored, we will never know, will we?
Meanwhile, a small group of guys makes a decent living by writing books about it.
