i tried investigating the mayan calendar and that date but i found little in terms of books and web site information. does anyone have good links to the topic?

The Osman's looniness is fully on display here. The concept of the "pyramids" is becoming so laughable that I feel sorry for all the well meaning folk who have been duped by this charlatan. Thanks Doug for getting that translation to us.

Also, I looked into the Daily Grail website in connection to Schoch (thanks Beagle for the link). He is a maverick but I will be interested to see what he has to say. He did, after all, come out against the Yonaguni "monument". Publication of a formal peer reviewable report would be nice.

I also had to check out the Daily Grail website (I never had been there before following Beagle's link ). They have a forum of sorts there. The Bosnian "pyramids" and Schoch have a topic discussed there. Some familiar names from this board with familiar accusations have been posting there as well. Well, if Schoch is as big an egotistical mouthpiece as his assistant, I wouldn't bet on his report from Visoko being unbiased. Her arrogance in those forum posts spoke volumes to me. She seems to have already made up her mind on the subject, and regards everyone who doesn't agree as being the ones out of step, or members of this supposed "archaeology club".

Yes, Schoch seems to be quite "enchanted" with his new lady.
It happens to us all.

But, in his most recent trip to Markawasi in the Andes he seems to have hit a balance. He says that he was very impressed with the "mystical aura" of the place. (what men will say to impress women)

But in conclusion, denied that there was any ancient civilization connected with it. I'd be very surprised if he didn't keep the same attitude in Bosnia.

I've just read that forum on the Grail, made me feel a little ill. I see Collette Dowell would be happy to have Rose banned from Bosnia -- and that Chris Mundigler's letter is being used to smear him (by the way, Grace Fegan was offered decent money but she refused to go and thinks the whole thing is a farce (my paraphrase, not her words).

I see point in getting involved in that forum though.

Well, Doug, as I stated above, I don't really know what Collette has to do with anything here. Schoch is obviously "keeping company" with her, but what does that have to do with him making a scientific observation.

Are all scientists conclusions judged by the company they keep? Of course not.

I do realize that this is the newest attack line - it's also the weakest.

I think she influences some of his ideas but I doubt she will influence his conclusions. But I don't like this growing talk of banning critics, and she seems to be supporting it.

Doug, if indeed that's her position, she is really beyond the pale. I haven't picked up on that because, mainly, I don't read what she has to say (much).

But thanks, I'll try to keep up with her a little even though I don't think what she says is important.

BTW - I saw on The Daily Grail that you're all having an anniversary. Congratulations.
