Your pix are getting better all the time, Charlie. Good color saturation (as far as I can judge in the absence of the original next to it of course), and sufficient lighting (looks like you, or your cam's electronics, compensated, successfully, for the black background).

However, sharpness (focus) and 'DoF' (Depth of [focus] Field) could be better. Due to you hand-holding the camera (camera shake...), as well as the object (double shake)!
You will get razor sharp focus if you use a tripod and your camera's selftimer. And DoF can be improved with a smaller aperture.

Also, with your current, practically head-on lighting the objects look relatively 'flat' and devoid of texture. If you light the objects from the side (with a piece of white paper on the other side of the object, as a reflector, to 'open up' the shadows) you will get much more texture, and be able to see many more details. Done well, your objects will appear to be almost tactile. Only 3D imaging will be better still.

Charlie,

Can I suggest you use the IFRAO scale, not only providing a reference to size but colour as well.

Regards
Richard.

Where can we get a printable one, Many?

Better version here;

http://mc2.vicnet.net.au/home/record/web/scale.html

Though I must admit the white does not print out as white when I try.

I understand the "real thing" can be obtained from IFRAO direct.

And the colors of that scale on http://www.cesmap.it/ifrao/scale.html don't seem to fresh and clear either...

"Obtained"? I assume you mean bought....
If 'they' want that particular scale adopted all over the world, making it cost money (and trouble to get one) is the dumbest thing 'they' can do!

No. Your priority at this point is to keep on trying to get a date for your specimens!

You indeed stand corrected Charlie. It has unfortunately fallen to me to explain a basic fact of archaelogy to you.
THERE ARE NO PRE-CLOVIS SITES IN AMERICA!
Did you get that?

Hopefully Cog, Charlie will not take the slightest bit of notice of us.

Charlie just goes off and does what he wants ... what's the matter with him anyway? Stuart Fiedel must be pissed.

Actually, my biggest fear is that Warren Sharp will come back with a very old date for Charlie's stuff and I won't be able to visit him in Texas since fame will go to his head and he'll be too busy signing his new book, How I Ignored Everyone's Advice and Became a Paleolithic Rock Star. :D
