There is some internet speculation that there is another wave of debris coming from the "Firestone Supernova" and that it would also be radioactive. So I thought about posting this in the Firestone thread but thought that might be a bit dramatic.
They'll be approaching that meteorite with the appropriate gear now though. Reuters is going to have a follow-up story when the geologists have a preliminary report.

Early in his career I thought Crichton was a great story teller who had lots of great ideas but could never think of an ending for his stories.
He's gotten better as he's gotten older.

Since I can't possibly be 'off topic' in this thread, Shawshank is one of those films which cable services such as HBO love to show month after month for years. And tell us, they do it because we want to see it. Actually I think its because they can show it and pay little or no royalties. Is it just me or have you noticed how certain movies just don't go away, and usually one viewing was enough? I actually cancelled most of the services years ago because I was sick of the same films repeating all the time.
FM, you still have children at home, so you're in a much different boat than I. There's a lot of good programming out there but the stations do indeed run some shows to death. They are perennial favorites though, and they can track the viewing.
This coming March, I guarantee you that "Hoosiers" will be playing on several channels. I like the movie because I grew up there and know all of those towns, although Hickory is a fantasy town. But every High School basketball fan loves it.

I will have to double check my hitory, but I belive "Hoosiers" was based on a true story. But it happened in Illinois. In the 50's before Illinois went to a class system there was a small town caled Hebron up on the Wiscconsin border that pretty much did what the movie storyline is. They won the state championship with 4 players in the last half of the last quarter.
Hollywood moved it to Ind. Everybody knows that is where HS BB is king.
One of those players is now Mayor of Hebron. And the watertower isn't a golf ball on a tee. It is a real big basket ball.

Not being a reader of Playboy, I may have been misinformed, if so I would apologise to Mr King, but having tried some of his books, my daughter has a copy of everything he's had published, I still think a few more like the SS Redemption would not do his bank balance any great harm.
