Agreed but if the entire atmosphere was CO2 during the Cambrian...so what? C14 can't go back that far, anyway. The whole purpose of calibration is to try to account for the variables, isn't it?

The ratio of the variables. If past 12C atmospheric levels were higher than today, indicated ages would be exaggerated.

I'm not sure we are disagreeing. That's why uncalibrated dates should not be used.

Although, there is always the Arch School of Thought which holds that evil scientists tinker with the calibration to make his bible look bad.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

ooh conspiracy theories abound
so now you have to contend with
1) the club
2) the creationists
3) the aliens
4) the communists
5) yourselves
all of whom are about as valid as each other
getting difficult to see the woods isn't it

While you sit on your butt, criticizing? :?

I love armchair quarterbacks.

How about an original thought...i.e.- one that doesn't come from a book or a link.

In science, this is called progress.

At least among the leaders. 8)

Get well soon, Cogs.
