Assuming that you mean he wrote some short articles for Playboy, that is not pornography. I appreciate the clarification Dig.

Why does it matter at all?
So what if he wrote porn?
You did other things too, 20 years ago!

I don't guess you've read Playboy magazine. Nobody writes porn. They interview many authors. I remember the Playboy interview with Norman Mailer, and Truman Capote. I don't even regard the magazine as porn. I had a subscription for years, I've let it lapse though.
Why does it matter at all?
For me, it's a matter of accuracy. For others, it doesn't matter.

In the 50's before Illinois went to a class system there was a small town caled Hebron up on the Wiscconsin border that pretty much did what the movie storyline is. They won the state championship with 4 players in the last half of the last quarter.

Hollywood moved it to Ind. Everybody knows that is where HS BB is king.

One of those players is now Mayor of Hebron. And the watertower isn't a golf ball on a tee. It is a real big basket ball.
I have heard it was based on a true story. They sure captured the BB fever of southern Indiana though. I think I was 9 years old when I managed to get a link of the net when Linton won the sectional. It was exactly like the movie, although that was not Linton's gym in the movie.

LIP-ir) -- Peru's Andina News Agency reported today that Puno's Regional Health Directorate sent a group of specialists to the Carancas community in the province of Chucuito near Bolivia to take samples of a meteorite that supposedly landed in the area.

Jorge López Tejada, a representative for the institution, stated that an environmental cleaning crew was going to the area to take earth and water samples from the actual landing site and from surrounding areas.
This story began over the weekend. Now people who have been near the meteorite have symptoms of radiation sickness. There will be follow-up news.
And now we get an entirely different story:

The BBC says that the 200 hospitalized people may be victims of mass hysteria. This is all pretty hysterical. 8)

Mass hysteria from a celestial phenomenon!
So what else is new?
We've had mass hysteria rule the world since the Star of Bethlehem. Only that one is called "Xtianity" . . .

How many thousand people lined up at a Chicago underpass a year or so ago because they just knew Jesus had showed himself in a stain?

People can talk themselves into damn near anything.

Probably explains how we ended up with Bush in the White House.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Hey! That "gamma ray" bombardment might have something to it after all! God probably had one of these:

An MoD spokesman said Britain is not planning to buy this weapon.
Now there's a surprise, why buy something modern when you've got a large supply of 50 yr old machine guns still in store?
It isn't so many years ago that the MOD sold off its stock of horse shoes!

The other night my daughter was listening to this song.
After thinking about it, I 've decided to post the lyrics here. I wonder what she thinks about the world she is maturing into?

You know Monk, it is kind of scary.
But one of the things that keeps me going is that Plato complained about the younger generation.

O/T

I hope no one thinks there is a mystery here. The cause and effect seem obvious!

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Snake collector Matt Wilkinson of Portland grabbed a 20-inch rattler from the highway near Maupin, and three weeks later, to impress his ex-girlfriend, he stuck the serpent in his mouth.

He was soon near death with a swollen tongue that blocked his throat. Trauma doctors at the Oregon Health and Science University saved his life.

And now, incredibly, scientists say they doubt that there was anything from space at all.

A few days ago this story was reported all over the 'net, along with wild speculation. Unless they find a meteorite in that crater, I'm not posting any more on it.
