ditto---40 years is enough for me (oh wait...i don't listen to him)
i find that at any given time the top 6 or 8 threads are top dead centered on the biblical vs scientific sitcom
there are 4 other pages of threads you can choose from, why worry about 2 0r 3??
just because a few threads are the ones generating interest does it mean that you are forced to particpate in them. feel free to post in any of theother ones....PLEASE!!
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.
i think this is the quote that i wanted to use; not sure can't remember:
from pg. 40 'Voices of the Rock'----
"Research into climate hostory shows that beginning sometime in the time spanrachingfrom 10,000 to 8,000 b.c.-- the period associated with the end of the most recent ice age-- Egypt was much wetter, with the contemporary desert a green savanna."
let's do what others do and speculate for a bit.
1. what if the sphynx was a monument left over fromthe pre-flood civilization?
2. if proven to be so, what ramifications would there be in today's society?
3. would that be enough proof for some to finally convince them that the bible is true?
i wonderif anyone canseriously discuss these questions without dismissing them or posting insults?
Arch again :i wonde rif anyone can seriously discuss these questions without dismissing them ????
Do you mean we have to agree with you and then discuss ?
Arch again :i wonde rif anyone can seriously discuss these questions without dismissing them
do what you want but if you can't seriously consider the possibilities and use your minds to explore the ramifications then you are not here for honest discussion.
Do you mean we have to agree with you and then discuss ?
i could care less if you agree with me or not, these questions are placed here for discussion but stick to the scope of the questions and don't come in here and say that is impossible because the flood never happened or whatever. that isn't the point of these questions use your heads and come up with an opinion that restricts itself to what they are asking.

Considering how much water was tied up frozen in the glaciers, when they melted at the end of the Ice Age, there would have been a hell of a lot of water flowing south.

1. Fine. I have no problem with that, anyway.
2. Seriously? Minimal. For one thing, most people would either not care or would refuse to believe it. It might cause Zahi Hawass a few professional problems.
3. A non sequitur. A document which only came into being in the late 7th century BC has no insight at all into civilizations which predate it by millenia.

and what would that do? would it have happened pre or post construction of the sphynx?

yes and that is my point when you ask me to provide clear cut evidence and then you get all upset when it does not meet your expectations.
it doesn't matter how much evidence i provide, people have the power to freely choose what they want to believe whether it is false or not. then, Yes they would refuse to believe it because it means they were wrong all along and they can't admit to it.
BTW, people who frequent an archaeology board would, one tends to think, be interested in such discussion. This is not about music videos or politics or sports. You have a targeted audience here that would be delighted to see your 'evidence.'
If you had any.

typical mantra of denial. i have presented enough sources and evidence to back up my point, you just refuse to acknowledge any. i have even pplaced the page number in my quotes.
Presenting the opinions of other bible-thumping morons is not evidence.
They aren't any smarter than you.

a rejection based upon an invalid reason, being Bible believers doesn't mean their opinion is less than par.
You miss the point....probably deliberately.
I don't give a flying fuck about their opinions.....what is the evidence upon which they base their opinions.
You always stop short of saying what their "evidence" might be....if any.
