Bosnian pyramids, Part II, no photos please!
Moderators: MichelleH, Minimalist, JPeters
pictures have already beenposted concerning the spheres. unfortunately, you have to do a lot of looking throughout the two threads to find them. Please join in, there has been a lack of sensible postings lately. I had never heard of the spheres before, any pictures you could post? Welcome aboard
good answer but digging for what? We'll carry on digging

I should really introduce myself, I am writing from Sarajevo, and have become interested in archeology since we started buliding pyramids.
Anyway, I 've been following this thread for a while now, (as well as others, special praise goes to FOTG thread) and after all of the fuss about "pyramids", which will carry on to flare people's imagination anyway,
I would like to point out that I still didn't get the answer about those stone balls or spheres or whatever you call them, that were found in Bosnia and that are identical to those found in Central America. Its something that really intrigues me 'cos I ve got one of them right here in front of me.
It was dug up by my grandfather about 70 years ago, together with 20 other balls, whille digging the well near Sarajevo. Its a perfect sphere about a metar high and, sorry can't remember the word in English for the other dimension, but its about one metar as well.
It's been in my house for a generation and I know few other people that treasure the same things.
What are they? We don't know but we keep them.
Any archeological value there? I don't know, but they look man made and have been found together. And, no, they are not cannonballs.
One more thing, if I can, I wouldn't like anyone to think that I work for Semir or doing this for some sort Bosnian patriotism but this should be pointed out also:
That Dr. Schoch have confirmed natural formation of Visocica hill is also credit to the Osmanagic's fondation who payed for THEIR visit to Visoko,
expecting scientific inquiry ( which it got from Dr. Scoch) but not this egotrip of his bodyguard.
Hope you don't mind if I join you on other threads.

Costa Rica
They were originally found in the delta of the Térraba River, also known as the Sierpe, Diquís, and General River, near the towns of Palmar Sur and Palmar Norte
the current geological theory is that these stone spheres are formed naturally by water in rivers
in both cases they are only found near rivers and significantly unlike almost every other anomaly of this type no half finished spheres have ever been found
clearly however if they are man made then they date from no earlier than 200 BC to AD 800 which means they are completely unconnected to claims of a 12,000 year old pyramid at Visoko because the only significant thing on the hill during that period was a roman watchtower

Thank you Marduk, a very informative post. You answered all of my questions.
It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Thanks to all for warm welcome.
Concerning stone balls (spheres) I always thought that they might be catapult ammunition, but what confused me was that no ancient settlement was ever found near the place where they were dug up.
Maybe some army was on the move and just left them there.
I have to point out that they were found not so deep underground (maybe a metar or so) so that excludes 12000 year old civilization theories we ve heard so often recently.
By the way if I missspell something or miss some articles (a or the) please forgive me, its been some time since I ve written in English.

That was a joke but it has some truth in itself cos this "thing" in Visoko will carry on regardless of what Dr.Schoch says, undereducated people will see there pyramids for years to come.Quote:

good answer but digging for what?

Keep us posted about the stone balls if you would. Also, I think I read that the hills around Visococa may be made into a park of "natural wonders" or something like that. That seems to have a lot of merit. That is a really beautiful area.Ftabash wrote:Thanks to all for warm welcome.

aparantly, the matter just won't die as anothe regyptologist makes a name for himself and tries to escape the shadow cast by Hawass:

Start now! This is the time. You are just scratching the surface. There is a lot to do here. Egypt can help you with experts," he said.
lets hear some opinions...He said he could claim with certainly that the pavements on the Pljesivica hill "cannot be naturally composed."
"What we are missing here are artifacts, organic material. But this kind of work should continue until facts are found," he said

Perphaps this should be posted under the thread I started
yesterday called "the press."
There are at least two statements in this article that wouldn't stand up to the most basic fact- checking.
One is that pavement has been discovered at several levels.
Another is that there is no "archaeological institute" in Bosnia.
(The Archaeologists in Bosnia already knew what was there.)
THen there's the fallacy that they need to keep digging....they have already removed enough dirt to fill up the fountain sof the deep and have found few artifacts!!.

The deeper you go, the higher you fly.
what it seems to me is that Os has finally found an ally to shore up his flagging adventure. the britsh guy underminded him, barakat was too weak and did not possess enough stature to reinforce the concept put forth, schoch let him down with his assessment. You have to be patient. This might take decades," he said
i guess Os will not give up trying and will dig forever or until he has enough privacy to construct his own pyramid to prove his rantings.
