How did we miss this!

If 40 percent of Americans refuse to believe that humans evolved from earlier hominids, how many will accept that the book we know as the Bible evolved from earlier texts and was not handed down, in toto, by God in its present form?

The fossil evidence for human evolution is permanently on display at the American Museum of Natural History. Hard evidence that the Bible took its present shape over centuries will be on display for the next 11 weeks, from today through Jan. 7, across the Mall at the Smithsonian's Arthur M. Sackler Gallery.
I'll be sending this link to Arch....there may be a nuclear blast in South Korea soon!

:D

i take it that this is the King James Version from the Hebrews version that theyre talking about which took place over hundreds of years and not the hebrew version from Akkadian texts which took place over thousands with all the stories the same but with different characters
Upnapishtim instead of Noah
Enlil instead of YHWH
Sargon the great instead of Moses
etc
etc
in that case Arch won't care
hes already proved hes incapable of accepting any other evidence except his own
even when said evidence is overwhelming and irrefutable
I can post the Gilgamesh to Noah flood story comparision again if you like in case any new posters havent seen it

Archaeologists claimed yesterday to have uncovered one of the world's first churches, built on a site believed to have once housed the Ark of the Covenant.

The site, emerging from the soil in a few acres in the hills of the Israeli occupied West Bank, is richly decorated with brightly coloured mosaics and inscriptions referring to Jesus Christ.

According to the team, led by Yitzhak Magen and Yevgeny Aharonovitch, the church dates to the late 4th century, making it one of Christianity's first formal places of worship.
A continuation of the trend which never finds relics of christianity older than the 3'd century.

The Koran of course is even later and also based on the earlier stories. The reason given my Imams is that God/Yaweh/Allah was simply updating.
