Cool, we can toast then. In the meantime, we have some serious football today.

I may not be around at that hour Beag, but rest assured I'll raise a glass to you all at midnight GMT.
A happy new year to everyone!

Best wishes to all for a prosperous new year. I will tip my hood to all our UK friends at 7:00PM EST (my location). Sorry for the Aussies...did I miss it? Gotta go find my globe.

Do you apply a daylight saving time or whatever on the eastern sea board Beag?
Geographically you are 5 hrs behind our GMT there, but we apply a DST between the vernal equinox and the autumnal equinox making EST 4 hrs behind us during our summer. So presumably when we are celebrating New Year it will be 7 pm EST.

Hi Digit, I'll join Monk at 7PM EST to toast our friends in the UK. That will cover the majority of the membership, but we can acknowledge everyone around the world too.
7 PM will not be too early for me to start drinking today.

Cheers Beag, if you're still sober enough at our midnight to operate a key board I'll see you then.

if you double click on the clock at the bottom right of your screen you will be able to work out the time zones yourself by using drop down menu on the aptly named tab marked "Time zone"
bit of a given I'd have thought

To stay in sync, I'll be raising my glass to all you fine peeps at 6:00 PM CST.
Maybe I'll stumble over to the 'puter around 11:00 P.M. CST, and write something incredibly stupid, and sappy...

I hope we'll notice Charlie.
