The discovery of a massive ancient lake in Darfur could help explain how the world’s biggest groundwater reservoir came to be under one of the driest parts of the planet. It is also indisputable evidence that the Sahara was once a wet, green region, researchers claim.

Exactly like our successors – 10,000 years in the future – will discover there was once a huuuuge inland sea in Asia: the Aral Sea....

Anyway, the Darfur inland sea, and its 9 tributaries, strongly supports the green sahara civilisation theory. Good. I can already see the 4x4 caravans ploughing through the barren desert to find that civilisation. And find it, they will.

Assuming they can get through the war zone.

Now...had they discovered OIL instead of WATER they'd have the 101st Airborne guarding the place.

No war there. Just looked it up on Google Earth. It's right there.

And fuck up that part of the country too? No thanks.

Finding civilisations in the desert is work for Indiana Jones!
Not for Rambo.
