What say you on the saga of a comet over Canada killing all of the Clovis brotherhood plus all the mega-animals in North America????? Seems a bit far out.

If there were Clovis people from Europe, their disappearance doesn't really need such a spectacular explanation.
The odds would be very high against any small groups' ultimate survival.
And the odds against finding any evidence of their existence 15,000 years later would be astronomical

Indeed!
For instance the
simplest explanation could be that they were whacked, couldn't it? A 'simple' holocaust. One race whacking another.
Another explanation could be a race-specific infectious disease. Like AIDS, or the flu.
So on, so forth.

What!!??
After Gunny’s guys in Texas did their thing, we got everything west of the Louisiana Purchase.
We got Puerto Rico, Samoa.
We annexed Hawaii and Alaska.
Then we have our economic colonies. Nations that would not exist at their current economic level if it wasn’t for US tourist dollars.
Mexico, all the Caribbean, Bermuda, Bimni.

Wow. No offense kb but you need to check your history on all that. I get the gist of what you're saying though.

Yes, we stole those places and have no intention of returning them to their rightful owners. Only time will accomplish that.

Or a couple of well-trained assassins with McMillan TAC-50's.
The McMillan TAC-50 rifle is credited with longest range documented kill on enemy soldier: in Afghanistan in 2002, Corporal Rob Furlong of the Canadian Forces used a McMillan TAC-50 to kill a Taliban insurgent at a range of 2430 meters (7972 feet/1.509 miles), the longest recorded sniper kill in history.
I can't see 2 mile radius security zones around targets yet.

Fear not, the psychopaths at the NRA want to protect the freedom of gun nuts to have such weapons in civilian hands!

Sen. Dianne Feinstein`s (D-Calif.) "Military Sniper Weapon Regulation Act" (S. 505) proposes to subject all ".50 caliber" center-fire rifles to the National Firearms Act (NFA), requiring owners to forfeit their rifles to the federal government. (It is illegal to possess an NFA firearm unless it has previously been registered to the owner by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.) The reasons to oppose the Senator`s latest gun-ban venture are numerous:

If 'criminal hands' equals 'civilian hands' they've already got more than enough.
What with the way the US army controls and tracks its weapons – NOT – that's a given.
It was in the news just last week that they 'lost' 190,000 guns in Iraq . . .
