The inevitable You Tube clips thread

Because I've had a crap day and need cheering up, and besides every forum seems to have one of these threads now. Here's my favourite sketch from a UK comedy show. This one has me in tears every time.

Warning: low archaeological content.

Here is a particular program from the UK which is sweeping the US by storm - among the youth. Many of the stupid little expressions are finding common useage. It has a very odd cult following.

From the series the Mighty Boosh - Old Gregg (in three segments)

When you start to hear these expressions, they came form here -
"Ever drink Baileys from a shoe? Creamy."
"I got a man-gina"
"I'll have flirtini"
"You're like a breadstick - ya got no rythmn"
"easy now, fuzzy little man-peach"

Odd and slightly disturbing but definitely a grower. Strangely enough, I don't think Boosh is that big over here and that's the first one I've seen. I'm amazed it's picked up a following over there.

Anyway, more Mitchell & Webb - based on TV historian Adam Hart-Davies who makes history "fun" and sullied the live broadcast of that probe landing on one of Jupiter's moons with his dumb "will we find little green men" type questions. Wonder how this compares with The Naked Archaeologist? - or whoever that guy was who inspired a grumbling thread about a year ago.

Actually this program does not try to mask the fact you should not take it too seriously, the Naked Archaeologist on the otherhand, is somewhat like professional wrestling. Wrestling is a legitimate sport but the stuff the WWE presents is termed "sports entertainment". Naked Arch. can be classified "archaeological entertainment".

That was pretty funny, but I must admit as someone who has never used a Mac, I thought the guy was talking about PCs until about halfway through. Vista is pretty good, but I hated XP with a vengance.

By the by, thanks to YouTube I've now seen clips of The Naked Archaeologist at last - only four minutes worth. I must admit I didn't find it as painful as I was lead to believe it would be, but I can see how his "irreverant" (ugh - always avoid anything that's described as "irreverent") style might wear thin pretty quick.

I hope this doesn't get me thrown off, and I also hope that I don't have to explain that it's satire.

Heh. From a similar hymn sheet, I know this old Bill Hicks clip is probably a bit overexposed by now, but it's always worth seeing one more time I say.

Not sure whether to post this here or the Decline of America thread, here is a nice summary of the Democratic campaign.
