Archaeological evidence suggests that the first skates made of animal bones date back to 3000 BC, helping people travel more widely during frozen winters in Finland, marking the start of the evolution of more sophisticated skates.

I wonder what they used for pucks?

There should have been a good supply of frozen raindeer pies.
I don't know if I would want to be the goalie though.

It's hard to imagine how far back children would have played in the ice and snow. Some Neanderthal kids may have used a frozen animal hide for a sled.

But when you're an old fart like me you don't want anything to do with it. :P
