Here's where you get off topic and off center....Keep it nice, keep it clean, no sniping, no flaming. After that, anything goes.

My collection of non-fiction historical books has been growing for some time now. Someone recently asked me if I read such and such a book. I replied, no, I don't read very much fiction. It's been years that a good story has really caught my attention...

Can you recommend a few decent authors or books, something that was a real page-turner for you ? I must admit that I have a fondness for historical fiction; and personally enjoyed "Sarum", "London" and "The New Forest", all by Edward Rutherfurd. Another that comes to mind is "Pillars if the Earth", historically innacurate, but fun never the less.

I look forward to your recommendations.
