Aztec Ruler's Tomb Found Under México City (August 9, 2007)
June 11, 2008—The remains of a palace thought to have been used by the emperor Moctezuma (also called Montezuma) have been unearthed in México City, archaeologists say.
I wouldn't be surprised. Having been to Mexico City many times back in my other life in the 60s, it's an Archaeologist's dream. You can't put a pick or shovel in the ground anywhere without uncovering some kind of artifact. I think it's a law that if you're going to build anything that requires digging (and what doesn't) you have to have an archaeologist on hand.
Thanks, Beags. It's short allright. Short on details... I didn't get the impression this discovery had yet led to some new insight or so. But of course there's still years of work ahead.
