If all you guys lived in the same town, I would definitely come.

As it is, the US is enormous and I expect you're all plane rides from one another, and I'd probably end up in some god forsaken, fundamentalist, inbred redneck backwater, like in Deliverance, where I'd very quickly get strung up for my beliefs.

So I'm sorry FM, but I think it would be better for me to stay this side of the pond and just lob over the odd bombshell, from time to time.

Well we are weighted towards the West coast. Michelle is somewhere in SoCal (sorry Michelle i can't remember which town) and i'm in NorCal. Chico to be exact. There are more in Cali as well, but i'm spacing names atm.

But Ish, if you lived on the coast pretty much anywhere from Monterrey, CA to Portland, OR you'd be more likely to fit in rather than be strung up.

Victoria, British Columbia, on the Southeastern tip of Vancouver Island.

A wonderful city. I hop on the ferry from Port Angeles on the US side

And a little more than an hour later, I'm there.

Beautiful harbor basin, ringed by the city proper,

Then well kept residential neighborhoods running upland and outward.

For example, Victoria has a proper tobacconist and pipe shop - yes I

Superb restaurants, "Matisse", for example, incredible museums, and

Other pleasures which the American side is absolutely,

Vancouver Island is flat out gorgeous.

On the negative side, yes,

There is that slightly decayed effluvium

Typically present in the former jewels of the previous

Colonial crown of the Brit Empire.

FM - nice vids, thanks - must admit I'm completely in the dark where CSNY are concerned but that's a fine bit of music. On the subject of that whole Kent State thing - I realise probably nobody on this board can stand them, but I've always been a big fan of DEVO, and according to their collective biography Kent State was what inspired them to form the band. Gerald Casale (guitarist) was a student there when it happened and said the sheer horror of the event made him realise that all was not well with the world - and DEVO was a sort of reaction against that.
