Clarification seems to be needed because the story seems to say that he was buried near his pyramid....rather than in it?
The burial chamber was found in Al Lahun, the town built by Senusret which became Egypt's political capital during the 12th and 13th dynasties, and where the king built his pyramid.

Possibly just a poor translation from Arabic but, Senusret II's pyramid is in pretty poor shape.

"The coffin is made of pink granite and the burial chamber is lined with red granite"
Perhaps Senusret II was gay...?
