Put this link into Babelfish if you don't read Italian. Basically what is says however, is at a religious conference held in Rome last week, Abune Paulos, head of the Ethiopian Orthodox church has announced that next Friday they will reveal to the world, the true Ark of the Convenant which has been hidden away in Axum Ethiopia for millenia. I am skeptical because the mainstream press has ignored the story. But maybe that will all change on Friday.

I guess I can wait a week. I've tried babelfish to translate hockey stories from Czech and Russian and ended up not knowing what sport I was reading about.

p.s. I ran Abune Paulos Ethiopia through Google News and found that even the wing-nut media is ignoring this one.

You won't have long to wait - the story came out last week so "next" Friday actually means "this" Friday.

Paulos has some controversy swirling around him as his appointment to head of the Ethiopian church was seen as a political move. The former head is in exile, driven out by ethnic fighting. He (Paulos) is an ethnic Tigre as is the current regime, but is that any reason to lie? I see one one of four possibilities:
1. The story is real and the Ark will be revealed.
2. They believe the Ark is real but testing will prove otherwise.
3. The whole thing is some kind of prank or scheme.
4. I don't know Italian as well as I thought.

I'm sure your Italian is fine.

I'll put my money on #2 or #3.
