...even after 40 years.

Will it turn out as with Galileo Galileï that he was the only one with common sense and balls, against all odds, sabotage, and character assassination?
What say you?

Von Daniken never could answer the three main questions.
1- Where did they come from?
2- If they could get here from another solar system, why would they bother?
3- Why would they stop without taking the place over?

The fact that he didn't/doesn't have answers for those questions doesn't mean there aren't any, only that we don't know them yet.
We have an expression, imo applicable here, that says, translated: "One lunatic can ask more questions in 10 minutes than 1,000 scientists can answer in 7 years."
Or: "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."

It was wrong when Arch's pal, Kenneth Kitchen, said it and its wrong now.
"Absence of evidence is not proof of absence...." It sure as hell is "evidence."
If I told you that 50,000 years ago the North Sea was held back from inundating Holland by a giant lemon meringue pie would you say "it's possible....I don't have any evidence that it DIDN'T happen."
I don't think so.

No, I would never say that.
I prefer apple pie...
But I would NOT say that it is
impossible until there is proof for that.
Only that it is very unlikely as they didn't have whipped cream then...

Some sort of giant pie-scoffing squid?

As long as they can chase it down and bring it back.

Many wives will too.
Like Min will
drink anything, of course, as long as it's in a can.
Neither will (can...) chase 'm, though!
