Here we go again... Competing theories for the origin of primates. 'New' publications, but both appear to be a rehash of old theories.

Rafting theory: http://www.nature.com/news/2010/100120/ ... 10.23.html

In the land migration theory, it mentions a widespread common ancestor to primates living on Pangaea, radiating outward before the supercontinent began breaking up into first the two large continents, then the existing continents... a date of 430-some odd million years ago. The Earth is approximately 4 billion years old... I wondered when land masses first appeared. I looked it up and was surprised. Probably everyone has heard about Pangaea and Gondwana and Laurentia, but what about the previous ones? There is a supercontinent cycle theory. Pretty interesting stuff.

The argument raised has been that the evolution of such a small brain does not fit with what we know about primate brain evolution.
So you learn something new, assholes!
