ScienceDaily (Feb. 11, 2010) — Researchers at Queen's University have helped produce a new archaeological tool which could answer key questions in human evolution.

The new calibration curve, which extends back 50,000 years, is a major landmark in radiocarbon dating -- the method used by archaeologists and geoscientists to establish the age of carbon-based materials.

OK, then let's get that show on the road! Re-appraise all datings up to 50,000 BP. And pronto please! Apparently all our current datings are tainted. So we need those new data! Now! Until we can avail of them 90% of archaeological efforts are stymied. Poisoned by distrust about the dating.

That's actually a good idea but as with anything else one wonders about who would foot the bill?

It was only a couple of years ago that a major study was undertaken in Palestine which not only confirmed Israel Finkelstein's "Low Chronology" but actually showed that it was a bit 'lower' than even Finkelstein suggested.
