Fascinating ! Be sure to click on the picture for an enlargement. That's where it really hits home.

If true it is testament to Michelangelo's fear of the church that he hid it so intricately.

Hidden to the extent that it took 500 yrs for it to be understood, so what was his point?
It's like the 'Decoding of the Bible,' why hide the 'truth' from those you wish to convert?

Perhaps because that "truth", as M saw it, would have been considered heresy by his paymasters? With dire consequences for M's well-being if it came out? That would be an excellent reason for hiding it.
Galileo Galileï's research funds were cut off when it his – proven – views of astronomy conflicted with the dogmas of the Vatican, and he himself was banned for decades, a hundred years later! He was lucky to live!
It was downright extremely dangerous to dissent in public. Especially when your opponent was the Holy See.
Unfortunately we're heading into that same direction today, again.
IF what Michelangelo painted was indeed a basic cerebral anatomic plan!
Because I'm not convinced. At all.
Sounds like interpreting coffee grounds, tossed shells, beads, and bones, chicken entrails, or cloud formations to me. I.o.w. what sangomas/clairvoyants/wiccas/medicine men do: pure witchcraft! A.k.a. BS.
I see this as a post scriptum to the DaVinci Code...

If you hide it so no one can see it why bother to paint it? What's the point?

Who said he 1) painted it at all, 2) hid it, 3) hid it intending that no one could see it. That last assumption makes no sense of course, because no one hides stuff with the intention that no one can find it again. People hide stuff so that only
some people, under the right circumstances, can find/recognize it.
If you don't want
anybody to find it you either don't create it to begin with, or you destroy it thoroughly. The first is questionable, the second M. certainly
didn't do.

That type of "thinking " is reminiscent of the "discoveries " of phi , particularly those of the skull and brain .
