Becoming a bit obsolete like the rest of the pharaohs, apparently.

Egypt’s Zahi Hawass, the man who has become synonymous with Egyptology, known for his cowboy had wearing, has sparked the ire of Egyptians in recent days, with protests chanting for him to step down from his post atop the country’s Supreme Council of Antiquities.

Ironically, as reports of stolen artifacts continues to surface since Hosni Mubarak was ousted from power on Friday, Hawass went public during the demonstrations and declared, triumphantly, that nothing has been stolen from the Egyptian Museum in downtown Cairo following the break-in on January 28.

“Get out,” chanted a crowd of 150 archaeology graduates outside Hawass’ office on Monday. The protest was highly personal: demonstrators called Hawass a “showman” who seeks publicity and has little regard for the thousands of archaeology students who are unable to find work in their field.

That's the same demonstration Michelle posted about, I think.

There's an interview on U Tube with one of the Egyptian antiquities guys hoping to avoid going down with the ship who's come up with a highly original story as to who stole the antiquities.
It was the Jews!

During an unscripted and seemingly threatening speech on state television, Saif Gaddafi said his father would fight "until the last man, the last woman, the last bullet".

With the man and women being the protesters and the the bullet being Gaddifi's.

I do recall Anwar Sadat commenting one time that other Arab states ( with an eye towards Libya ) were "willing to fight Israel to the last Egyptian soldier."

Not until they finish their "revolutions" and find that they are in exactly the same hole they were in before....only with new autocrats in charge.

Far too many schools are dedicated to memorizing the friggin' koran which is hardly useful in the modern age. They will have to desire to join the 21st century. That's means throwing the mullahs out, too.
