From the retrospect of almost a decade, the stories of the “Brother of Jesus” ossuary and the “Jehoash Inscription” will probably be recorded as an insignificant footnote in the history of the archaeological research of the Holy Land. Nevertheless, like the “Shapira Affair” in the nineteenth century, they are still likely to arouse the imagination of future mystery writers and filmmakers who, in the style of Indiana Jones, might make a decent living from the intriguing plot which has all the ingredients of a fascinating detective story.

Of course some people would gladly accept forgeries if they tell them what they wish to hear.

I consider this a “Tempest in a Tea Pot.”

To me this is much like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson arguing over who is more black.
Does anybody really care?

I am an “independent Christian.” (by that I mean I seem to have some problem with all the recognized denominations and therefore do not belong to any)
But I am profound believer in the Bible.
But I do not consider it a history book, a science book, or a biology book.
Although it does have some small portions that relate to this stuff, they are far outside the main the theme of the book.

Like Sharpton and Jackson, some people have made themselves well paying careers for and against this type of “Biblical research.”
It is all hooey.
They need headlines to maintain their doubtful importance.

I simply do not need an engraved rock to tell me what I am reading is meaningful.

Or meaningless?
