Oh boy, here we go again.
Someone call for the astronaut.

“Two archaeological sites surveyed on Mount Ararat”

Since Noah is an OT story I guess we will have to call it a Hanukkah news release and not a Christmas one.
Still it is the season.

We need PICs of the "Wooden structure."

I did a quick search on the guy.
He seems to be one that try’s to use science to prove the Bible.
He certainly has credentials, but “went south” somewhere along the way.

At least he did not claim to find an "ark."

Puts him several steps above the lunatic fringe already.

Min, let me help:

Klenck reports, “The surface scatter of the wood above the large structure is 121.1 meters in length and 23.8 meters in width. The construction is at least 5.2 meters deep and several measurements of the exterior walls exhibit angles moving inward toward the base of the edifice. Also, there are stair-like features that descend through the middle of the multi-storied structure and mortise-and-tenon construction.” He notes, “The structure is buried under tons of stones and ice and most of the edifice remains unexplored.”

Klenck is attempting to measure the Ark. After all, it's a multi-storied structure with mortise-and-tenon construction. Get on board, dude!

** My real question is: What's a Natufian site doing so far north?

These assemblages at other sites in the Near East have calibrated radiocarbon dates between 13,100 and 9,600 B.C.

Nah, fundies would never admit that.

There's an article about Klenck's "finding" on Mt Ararat under

http://www.mysterycasebook.com/2011/noahsarkararat.html

Of special interest is the comments section underneath the article, where you can find the following:

"I had the misfortune of having Joel David Klenck as a customer, climbing Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey in September 2011. He went missing for five hours and we feared he was dead in the canyon. He had secretly left the camp to find the fraudulent Noah's Ark site being perpetrated by the Chinese Noah's Ark Ministries (NAMI) and their Kurdish partner in the fraud nick-naked Parasut. We were ordered to take Klenck to the Jandarma (military) after bringing him off the mountain. There he gave his statement that he got lost going to do a "number two" behind a rock and slid down. He states he never met Parasut or Clara Wei, the Chinese NAMI team member, that this was his first time in eastern Turkey in his life, and that he thought the Noah's Ark story was a fraud. The Jandarma let him go after taking his statement September 2011. He immediately started putting so-called press releases online, written in third person, about his expertise as an archeologist and claiming to have examined the non-existent Noah's Ark site and "artifacts". It turns out he appears in NAMI's movie "The Days of Noah - Apocalypse II" as their expert. I wonder how much he got paid for his guest appearance. The Turkish authorities now want him back in court. It's not nice to lie to the Turkish authorities. He is great at fiction, but truth is not his strength. You can learn more about his Noah's Ark fraud at http://www.mountainararattrek.com/ark. Oh, he also reviews all his own books. These are his favorite pen names: Monique St. John, Writers Forum; Timothy Delarue, Literature Review; Sebastian Cooke, Authors Guild; and James Arnold, Literary Critics Corner. He used free databases to create reviewer profiles. Don't believe me? Go ahead and Google the names and see what you find out. I don't have to hide behind a pen name. This is my REAL name: Dr. Amy L. Beam, Mount Ararat Trek, http://www.mountararattrek.com"

Thanks, Joachim.

Frankly, I've lost count of how many times Noah's Ark has been "found."

Funny how they keep losing it again, isn't it?

Yes, George,

the keyword here is "funny". The world is full of people who make a living of finding Noah's Ark, Atlantis, the Holy Grail, etc. Among the topics that sell the bible is certainly high up on the list. No use counting, just enjoy reading for a change, and take it as funny.

Life is a tragedy for those who feel - and a comedy for those who think.

Certain topics are high on my comedy list.
