Looks like a hoax.

An investigation carried out by Pierre Stromberg and Paul Heinrich, with the help of members of the Spark Plug Collectors of America, suggested that the artifact is a 1920s Champion spark plug. Chad Windham, President of the Spark Plug Collectors of America, identified the Coso Artifact as a 1920s-era Champion spark plug, which was widely used in the Ford Model T and Model A engines. Other spark plug collectors concurred with his assessment.[1]
Erich Von Daniken made a big deal out of it in Chariots of the Gods....proving he is just as much of a clown as the ones who "found" it.

For the benefit of those of us to whom reading simple material with ordinary comprehension is a bit of a "challenge" :
It shows a weak magnetic attraction, and ohm meter readings reveal that it has a strength approaching that of an open circuit.
As do other spark plugs (modern or antique) ?
The 0.3-inch diameter piece . . .
Get your dial calipres out, open the jaws to 7.62 mm., get a good look at that size, and tell us if any spark plug ever made is that small in diameter.

Look under the hood of any recent Chevy.
(Or other auto of your choice.)
Mechanics tend to call them "peanut plugs."
However I do not know what that has to do with archaeology.

And these are presumably magnetic as well ?
The archaeological relevance light comes on when noting that it is encased in stone.
Just saying it reminds you of something modern doesn't cut it.

All it proves is that ancient, visiting alien mechanics, when working on an advanced ICE
(Internal Combustion Engine) did what most current day mechanics do.
They threw away the junked spark plugs.

This is what always happens. The very people who are most intransigently insistent on "proof" disappear when presented with something that rubbishes their conception of the past they can't dismiss out of hand or explain away.

No , what always happens is that when investiagted the proof proves to the most likley explanation ,as shown in the link from the link in the first response posted 2 and hallf years ago .
It wasn't ignored it was dealt with a long time ago .

Try reading the follow-ups.
"Looks like" ? ! ? There are dogs that "look like" ponies, and insects that "look like" twigs. Heck, there are psychopathic politicians who "look like" normal human beings.
"Looks like" is no refutiation. Especially in light of the glaring sparkplug-anomalies cited.
