In Arizona "winter" is the nice time of the year.

Then, you'll be coming out of hibernation?

Pretty much.
By October everyone is pretty sick of the heat.

I lived in Florida for thirteen years and experienced pretty much the same except that the slightly lower temperature was offset by the 94% humidity at sea level. But, here on the farm, my to do list shortens dramatically during winter, leaving opportunity for, as a pilot would say, seat time.

120 days in a row of plus 100 degree temps could piss off a Quaker.

Very pretty, F/P....until they fall off the trees and have to be raked up.
Just thinking about it is giving me a backache and I don't even own a rake anymore.

Doesn't work that way, we have fifteen acres. So, either the wind blows them into the tree line/woods or the 54 inch deck on the John Deere turns them into fertilizer. Actually, I prefer the later, because the soil is very weak being the sandy bottom of glacial Lake Warren. I will admit however that the porches, particularly the back one, which was painted this summer, will get broomed. Therefore, we do not rake.

*sigh* Your property is lovely Farpoint.
Except for springtime, when the wildflowers are in bloom, South Central Texas is either brown or green. (mostly brown)
Our seasons are HOT or COLD. If you blink at the wrong time, you will have missed the Spring & Fall seasons.
