Maya Trade in the Gulf of Mexico and up N A rivers?
I know some of us don’t put much faith in linguistics,
but it can provide some back up evidence.

Kb, the Haustecan-Mississippian trade network is covered in my book.
Early Totonac contact is covered in it as well.
There are inexpensive used copies available through amazon, or you can read it for free through interlibrary loan.

Many years ago (1960s), Don Dragoo connected the mound builders with that area via the Chrystal River complex.

I am a beliver in world wide trade long before the "Age of Discovery."
