We do have a rough idea of the pitch set , scales /modes used on the stringed instruments but that doesn't mean that the singers would not have used other pitches or even qurter tones etc .
Does the knowledge of the language and verse really provide a guide to rhythm ? Purcell would have used entirely rhythyms when presented with rap lyrics and sumer is a cumen would differ dramatically if set by Harrison Birtwhistle yet all speak the same language and are belong to a time period of less than millenium . What hope for retrieving something three times as old ?
Prefer Tupac any day .
