Who Was Sattjeni? Tomb Reveals Secrets About Ancient Egyptian Elite
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

I was reading some older articles about Hatshepsup to pass some idle time & ran across an article that stated that the tomb where her body was found had been 'discovered' at least twice in modern times. One of the archaeologists was Howard Carter. He was recovering the locations of known tombs & did the first comprehensive excavation of that tomb. (vs the Giovanni method...) He made some scathing comments about that tomb & wrote off the occupants as unimportant, closing the tomb.

Then it was opened again & the mummy of her wet nurse was removed & transported to the museum in Cairo, sarcophagus & all. The archaeologist who supervised that reportedly had a cheap wooden coffin made & placed Hatshepsut's mummy in it because it was laying on the ground in a welter of rotted linen bandages. Then the tomb was closed up again...

It's kind of funny how we have preconceived notions of how something or someone should appear. Apparently, Hatshepsut didn't seem regal in appearance despite the fact that her arm was mummified in a position that was reserved for queens... She can be said to have been the most powerful & influential woman in all of Egyptian history & she lay butt naked on the floor of a tomb for a couple of millenia. Go figure.
