Did This Mysterious Ape-Human Once Live Alongside Our Ancestors?

A couple years ago, NG did a flick on Dr. Berger's remarkable cave find. I guess i just figured they were a Million+ years old, maybe 2M. But now they fall around 250,000 years. Strangelier and strangelier. I don't think we have a family tree anymore, not even a family bush. I propose a third metaphore: a family orgy.

Given the brain size of a gorilla, it made me wonder about the Hobbits, with their 400 cc braincase, which is 200cc smaller than H. Habilis: Friday 21 April 2017

Also, Berger is calling the behavior exhibited by H. naledi 'caching' rather than burial.

I guess he got a lot of flak for characterizing such behavior as a burial/mortuary practice.

Doesn't caching assume a return for the item.
Maybe they had a belief in some kind of resurrection?
