Re: Meteor
Well, we are still here so clearly it did not end humanity.
Chemical plants in Texas blow up with more force than that and the government can't seem to do anything about them, either. States' Rights, you know!

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Re: Meteor
What's the big hairy deal about the Air Force not reporting the meteorite striking 40 km North of its base? Report what? The fact that a meteorite hit Greenland was already reported by civilian news agencies. What could the Air Force possibly add to that? Is this a new conspiracy theory in the making?

'States' Rights, you know!'
I don't think Greenland qualifies.
In fact, I doubt it would want to.
In his defense, it didn't have to have global results to be noticed and remembered.
Granted, there is not many people non-uniformed there to record it.

Re: Meteor
I've collected meteorites for 35 years, so maybe I can fill in for E.P. now and then, lol. This particular event was notable, but I think it generated bogus hype because of the nearby base. And, as noted, not many people around to witness it. There may be fragments on the ground, and there is a dedicated cadre of hunters who would be all over this ordinarily, but this is simply too remote even for those hunters. I think, lol. Those guys will try if there's a way.

Re: Meteor
A remote location of impact has nothing to do with the importance of the event.
(Except. maybe, in the eyes of a US TV evening news editor.)
How many humans saw the Gulf of Mexico impact?

If they had it would have really lowered property values!

What r the property values in Greenland? Scattering a few supposed meteorites around can't hurt.Minimalist wrote:If they had it would have really lowered property values!

Re: Meteor
As the ice melts it is probably improving. I wonder when Trump will try to put a golf course there?

LMAO!!! Well Hell... It's traditional for most Air Force bases to have golf courses so that the bigwigs can keep their skills sharp... Don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere & have your golf skills go down hill because of lack of practice...

So.... if you're playing golf on top of a glacier do you use an orange ball?

Beats the hell out of me. The golf game I ever played was Putt-Putt Golf. It was fun to try to get your golf all past the watermill blades...Minimalist wrote:So.... if you're playing golf on top of a glacier do you use an orange ball?
