Slavery in the Roman period is an uncomfortable, but important, topic for us today, and one that continues to have modern resonance. Seeing Slavery in Roman Britain which will be presented by Dr Jane Evans of Newcastle University, a renowned expert in this field. Most of the evidence for Roman slavery tends to come from the Mediterranean provinces of the Roman empire, but in this lecture Jane will explore the British evidence. It promises to be an interesting and thought-provoking evening.
