Rocks with faces

The Western Hemisphere. General term for the Americas following their discovery by Europeans, thus setting them in contradistinction to the Old World of Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Hey Dummy! (aka/Brett Martin)

Ya know, it would pay to do your due diligence before spewing errata...

Virginia Steen-McIntyre is a geologist, not a 'world famous' archaeologist... She specializes in volcanic ash.

'Nuff said. (Still laughing...)

I have not read the entirety of this thread, but have looked at PointBlank’s offerings. From 65 years experience handling stone artifacts it’s pretty apparent that most of PointBlank’s more questionable offerings show no signs of human manufacture at all. Zero. In many cases, his rocks don’t even qualify as geofacts, since geofacts are stones that resemble artifacts, and very few of his eloliths qualify as geofacts, either. This whole exercise appears to be pareidolia applied to rocks.

This misidentification of rocks as having been humanly altered, and displaying images, etc., seems to be a very common delusional disorder nowadays. I doubt you’ll find it described in the Merck Manual Overview of Personality Disorders, but when the individual promoting falsehoods cannot, under any circumstances, be reasoned with, or persuaded to even consider the possibility that they can be mistaken, it’s certainly problematic. Best to ignore, and just walk away.

Maybe some enterprising psychology student looking for a unique PhD thesis could delve into the subject more. There is a Facebook group called “The Other Artifacts”, populated by people whose imagined artifacts have been rejected by professional archaeologists, art specialists, and artifact forums. The administrator, in his rules, actually states “if you say ‘just a rock’, your ass is outta here!”. Ha, I kid you not. It certainly seems to be some specie of mental disorder. But I’m no psychiatrist, just can’t help but notice the degree of fanaticism attendant in this subject.

As a moderator on an artifact forum, folks displaying these beliefs show up now and then. Sometimes, they are just the expected mistakes made by people with little to no experience with actual stone artifacts. In that case, it’s often possible to educate them, explain to them the mistake in cognition that they are making. At other times, they become abusive when people point out their error, and banning is the only solution. I’m not suggesting that as the solution here.

Well said Shawomet. We've seen these types of delusions here before, so nothing new there. I looked over everything he had to offer as far as what he claimed was confirmation/affirmation from professionals. It all turned out to be outright lies. There was no 'confirmation' except in his own blog & website. Even his 'article' in the Pleistocene Coalition News was never endorsed or even commented upon. It was just posted. It was at that time that I decided to cry "FOUL". I really didn't want some credulous person to stumble upon his delusions posted in this forum & think that it was fully endorsed by professionals in the field. That would be doing a great diservice to all the accredited professionals who spent time, effort & hard earned money to educate themselves properly unlike some idiot with zero education deciding that he knows everything.

Thank you shawomet for recognizing workmanship/artifactuality in my finds, but I feel your initial statement is a complete copout, Simply because you are not saying which you did and did not recognize human modification in. I do appreciate you have a claim for 60 odd years of experience, I only found and recognised my first stone tool some 40 years back. I have multiple methods of recognition of artifactuality and some of my methods and understanding are on display for all to comprehend, and verify as sound. my PCN article -> http://pleistocenecoalition.com/newsletter/july-august2017.pdf#page=11

I am no expert, and no self proclaimed expert as a LIAR on this forum would have you believe, in all types of stone tools, prehistoric art etc. And if you have a similar article you have produced shawomet, I would happily read it. I AM able to logically explain why all of the finds I've shared here are artefacts and you may well comprehend this because your own item displayed has no visual evidence of human modification in the pictures you provided. And way back in the start of this thread I mention how I use topology as part of my method, which is not infallible, but increases positive results exponentially with recognized content, shape and form. Shawomet I don't expect you to really understand this at all, because its very much like reading Japanese characters, if you learned those pictograms you would understand, without knowing those shapes and accepting them then nothing(in my case by over 10 years of work studying the hidden symbology of flint tools, and having access to some of the worlds best examples of figure stones)

I've also pointed out how the type of art I have here is really no different to items that were in the Nasher figure stone exhibition.https://www.nashersculpturecenter.org/a ... ion/id/535 so why shouldn't I find such things huh?

I do suggest you read my article, and if you can find any flaws, or parts where you do not understand I am happy to explain and discuss them with you. I would also urge you to pass any 'crazy rock people' my way, because I'm pretty sure some of them will have genuine finds that you are unable to comprehend.

I would also point out that my find site provides me with many obvious stone tools that carry the same artistic animal shapes as other finds I display here, and my methods enable me to recognize artefacts where others clearly fail. Enc, two stone tool examples.

Very sound post, shawomet.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Cue the woo-woo Twilight Zone Music... "hidden symbology"... an indication that Brett believes that he has some special ability to see & recognise what others don't... WOW. Talk about delusional. Possibly even messianic. Should we bow down to this god of self taught armchair archaeology???

Tell us Brett... why is the 'symbology' hidden, only to be seen & recognised by 'special' people like you? Are you saying that we should sit at your feet & soak up your greatness? Worship your insight & brilliance? Give you the recognition & adulation that you so obviously crave?

You can kneel at my feet later Circ and beg for death  Only people with an IQ over 70 can see the shapes in the flint tool assemblages, and hand axes. Those that have this level are CLEARLY ABLE TO SEE THE THUMB AND HAND SHAPES IN THE HANDAXES ON MY BLOG. Its easier than where's waldo, but first you must accept the existence of waldo, know what to look for, and look.

Like I said before, we should have an IQ test, just you and me, but you're chicken, because you throw insult after insult to someone who is your SUPERIOR in intellect and you know it
