Re: I found a dime
Apparently the town is San Javier in Spain. Here are some of the comments from the original posting... i'm betting it's some sort of fish, crab, lobster, or some other edible sea animal nursery. i've seen these sorts of things other places, not in google earth, but in national geographic, and others...

Re: Egyptian Glyphs in Australia???
[...] Don't get me started on questions of why, Corn, Tomatoes, Potatoes, Cassava etc never came back the other way, if such a trade route did exist. Because their weight/value ratio wasn't interesting enough to mount an undertaking like a circumnavigation for. Veggies are heavy and perishable, and...

Re: Jurassic Park for real?
My ethics are shot on this issue. I'd give my right arm to see a real live... Mammoth, Mastodon, Wolloy Rhino, Sabretooth, Giant Sloth, Dodo, Great Auk, Thylacine etc etc etc But it don't seem right, mammoths born by elephants. Something inside me says that can't be a humane outcome for the "re...

Lots of back tracking and CYA on top of the original post, And, of course, weather isn’t climate, BUT the numbers are the numbers. http://www.accuweather.com/mt-news-blogs.asp?blog=weathermatrix&partner=&pgUrl=/mtweb/content/weathermatrix/archives/2009/07/1000_low_temp_records_set_this_july...

The Cocaine mummies are interesting, I must say I've not heard any conclusive evidence to prove they are a hoax. When watching the documentary (years ago) I did immediately discount the test for tobacco as contaminated, I, mean the things have spent decades in primarily male staffed institutions whi...

Re: New species?
Tangent time!!! I often wonder about the reports that Native American oral history concerning the arrival of horses with the Spanish, often states that while horses were new to the Indians, "the grass remembered them". I can't find any solid reference right now (google hard enough and you'...

Re: Egyptian Glyphs in Australia???
In the 19th century, and the beginning of the 20th, every other travelling street fair had its own "genuine Egyptian mummy" on display. Double tragic that one; first for the number of people who paid good money to look at dead monkeys. And conversley for the number who got what they paid ...

Re: Monte Verde Annex?
I wonder if a transalpine migration theory is even neccessary with regard to these Stegos. Unless I missed something (always possible) we're talking about a few disarticulated (by humans) bones not a skeleton. There's no reason to assume that the whole living animal was ever on the mountain. I've th...

Re: Egyptian Glyphs in Australia???
Well again its all speculation but I'd guess its an extension of another Victorian craze ie; carving your initials into your colonial subordinates national treasures. I mean its a lot of work (a few hours at least if we assume a modern carver with steel tools) for a prank, but just like the guy who ...

Re: Egyptian Glyphs in Australia???
I'm calling hoax too. There seems to be number of places in that pic where the glyph has been inscribed THROUGH the lichens on the rock. there's no way those small patches of lichen have been in situ for thousands of years. They should be much bigger or have at least grown into the glyph. The lack o...
