If you call all the instances where people has put stones in circles henges, then is isnt. Just like we call all places where people makes mounts of stones instead of earth Pyramids.

HI

If noone recorded them 100 years ago, then i might not be the same markings as the one found. Someone might have seen some strange markings a hundred years ago. Then later (maybee the dog guy) have made new hiroglyphs to spark interests in the local area.

Thor Heyerdahls boat/raft expeditions are in the catagory of Experimental Archeology. They didnt dress up in costumes, but tried out theories of how boats could sail in ancient times.

Hi

The funny thing is that all the reenactors on your picture wear Norman helmets, of the few scandinavian helmets from viking age looks like that, they look more like the helmet from Sutton Hoo.

Hi

The last viking died about 1000 years ago, and no viking wore horns on helmets.

The trip is a scientific journey and not roleplay/SCA. The kind of clothes have no bearing on the way the ship sail.

The worlds longest reconstruction of a viking ship returns to Roskilde in Denmark this saturday. It sailed from Roskilde to Ireland last year and have sailed back this year.

Hi I think the ropes look like rope made from Lime-bast. I dont know if the limetree grow in egyps, but in africa people does to this day make rope of bast.
