Welcome, LadyV! Lots of crazy people here. Arch is the religious nut. He can maybe explain how he thinks the "caveman" fits into the bible. As best I can tell they think it was some race of human who lived before "the flood". They have a whole fantasy story about it I think. He will point out that there are only a few fossils which represent evolution and that there is no connecting link between them. He will also point out that all dating techniques are faulty and that he doesn't believe any of them. Also according to arch, all fossils came from the same time and since no one was there to record what happened and how, then the evidence must simply be discarded. So dinosaurs either didn't exist or .............or........I don't know what. What is it arch? Explain all this stuff to her. It's so ridiculous that it doesn't stick in my evil, un-godly mind.

LadyV, welcome to our forum. Most of us are friendly. A good number of us are insane. Some of us are smart. There are some real proffesional archaeologists who check in sometimes and then there's avocationals like me and then there's armchair, History channel watchers, and then theres arch. Watch out for Marduk. He's pretty smart, but he can be mean. His social skills are a bit lacking. Just don't take his jibes too seriously. I hope you enjoy the forum. I'm looking forward to your contributions. You seem to ba able to hold your own among the wolves. Also it's good to have another female here. We haven't had many. Any problems or questions just ask someone. Most of us are actually friendly when we aren't pissed off. Mostly when we're pissed it's at arch.....or Marduk. Guess I've rambled on long enough. Again, welcome!

Frank, I think you have summed this cockeyed crew up pretty well.

Starflower has hung right in there with us. I look forward to hearing more of what she thinks as well.

A good number of us are insane.

Excuse me?

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

You know - it seems to me that there is a good point being made here. It would realy be nice if a new member were welcomed by us all - as we're doing here.

Bob has a process like that on his website and it's pretty nice to be welcomed by the whole group. I know, we get new posters constantly so the same thing wouldn't work here. But something might.

Then - if they turn out to be a flamer, we can deal with that then.

BTW, lest Lady V think we are making stuff up about arch, well....here you go!

http://www.answersingenesis.org/docs/2.asp

As you add up all of the dates, and accepting that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth almost 2000 years ago, we come to the conclusion that the creation of the Earth and animals (including the dinosaurs) occurred only thousands of years ago (perhaps only 6000!), not millions of years. Thus, if the Bible is right (and it is!), dinosaurs must have lived within the past thousands of years.

What is scary is that there are apparently far too many stupid Americans who believe such utter drivel.

I'm quoting myself - it beats talking to myself I guess.

We get new people constantly - we need to keep them - at least the "good" ones.

Well, LadyV, by now you have met the majority of the "group." Please keep in mind that we females are the closest to normal you will find here, so we need enough to balance these men.
